Photos–Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association Parade
Organized in 1926, the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association (SCVFA) has served as a communication and interactive organization dedicated to the enhancement of the volunteer fire service throughout Sullivan County.
Fire companies take turns hosting this annual parade. It is a point of honor to win one or more trophies at this special event (especially the Blue Ribbon Trophy), so fire companies refine their marching skills, prepare their uniforms, and clean and polish their trucks and apparatus. They must follow very specific rules of the parade or receive demerits, which could hurt their chances of winning a trophy.
